| Massachusetts Tyranny Response Team Members as Armed Guards |
| Some of you
may not know that Ed and I are part time armed guards. Because of security, I can't tell you exactly where we were this past weekend, but I can tell you it was Federal, and we were in Boston. Some of you may have also heard that there was a bomb threat on Sunday for the harbor area. We were on alert before then, but after the threat - we were on FULL pins and needles alert. To be honest, it was unnerving. Every car that entered was thoroughly searched (including mirror to check the undercarriage of the car), every car that passed by the entrance was looked at - roof tops were checked (and the apartment building across the street from us had people on the roof looking down on us and out at the harbor....THAT was really unnerving) and everyone that walked by was scrutinized. I had my .40 on my hip, and my .380 as a back up, yet I still felt exposed. 12 hours (that was our shift) of being in an "Alert" stage of awareness is mentally draining. The people who were there with us at the front gate were told that if anyone came up and said anything about "you guys are going to be blown up" or anything in any way shape or form resembling that, that they were to put them on the ground and hold them. Keep in mind - Ed and I were the "hired guns"...those guys were unarmed. After being told that, one of them looked at me with an expression of "and how am I going to do that?" (I realize this is going to sound like bravado, however....) I told him if Ed or I are not right next to him if that should happen, to yell one or both of our names - that we'd take it from there. I think that's when the adrenaline began to flow...and continued to do so for the next 11 hours. Suffice it to say - where we were could very well have been a target...and still could be. Thankfully, our shift was uneventful, however, towards the end of the shift, there was one guy that walked by. Ed was standing at the entrance and I had moved down the street a bit to ask a car that had pulled over to please move on. As he quickly walked past Ed, he said something to the effect of "It won't work"...when he reached me, he said "Go to hell." I was BS to the max. I couldn't get a real good description of him because it was getting dark and he was already past me when I turned to look at him. I couldn't believe it. We passed it on to the appropriate people (just in case), but I wanted to rip the guys face off. My teeth hurt today from gritting them so hard last night. We'll be there for the next three weekends, and yes, we're being paid very well to be there, but ya know something?? Because of where we are and what we're doing...we'd do it for nothing just to help out. Yeah, it was nerve wracking, but damn...Ed and I were proud to be there. We were proud to be working with the people we were with, and we wouldn't hesitate for a second to do it again ...even with the threat. I've always said that I love my country, and I do...but I never realized the full extent of that love until yesterday as I was watching for the a$$ wipes that want to hurt the land I love. Lynne D |
